Monthly Fireside Chat with Foundation President Courtney B. Vance 11/23/20

Please watch November’s Fireside Chat from our President Courtney B. Vance who gives an update on our COVID-19 and Disaster Relief Fund, promotes the upcoming #GivingTuesday, introduces a special upcoming event with the cast of ‘The Prom’ by Ryan Murphy and Netflix, and sends a special Thanksgiving greeting.

COVID-19 and Disaster Relief Fund Update: This month we crossed a major milestone, granting over $6 million dollars in COVID-19 relief aid to more than 6,500 SAG-AFTRA artists and families in need. While the circumstances are not what anyone would consider positive, the response and support that so many of you have shown is phenomenal, showing that we have truly come together as a community to help those who’ve needed help.

#GivingTuesday: On Tuesday, December 1st, we’re asking for your participation in #GivingTuesday, the annual global charitable movement where non-profit organizations ask for support as they close out the year. Our Foundation relies entirely on the generosity of donors to continue the vital work we do for our community, and this year has been unlike any other. If you’re in a position to donate [http://www.sagaftrafoundation.org/donate], please consider doing so as our Fund continues to give aid to our community.

THE PROM: Netflix and Ryan Murphy, a member of our Entertainment Industry Council, will be hosting a special upcoming virtual event in connection with the premiere of ‘The Prom.’ This movie adaptation of the Broadway show stars several of our Actors’ Council members — Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, and Kerry Washington, as well as Foundation supporters James Corden, Keegan-Michael Key, and Andrew Rannells. Details will be announced in early December, so if you are a SAG-AFTRA member and you are not signed up on the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s email list, create your free user account today [http://www.sagaftra.foundation] so you can be a part of this RSVP-only virtual event. You won’t want to miss it.

And finally, our best wishes to you all for a Happy, and Healthy, Thanksgiving holiday. We’re so thankful for your ongoing participation and support.
