Maysie Hoy was studying to be a dietician in Canada when she decided to transfer to the theater arts department. At the time, there were not a lot of roles for Chinese women like her, but her determination led her to be cast in a Robert Altman film. Learn how Hoy’s tenacity and willingness to learn led to a mentorship under Altman, and to the formation of a career in a different aspect of the film industry – editing.
