Rod Steiger Career Retrospective | Legacy Collection | Conversations at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation
Rod Steiger shares stories from his performances in ‘Marty,’ ‘On The Waterfront,’ and ‘In The Heat Of The Night’ in this career-spanning discussion moderated by Todd Amorde. The following interview was recorded on July 6, 2002.
This conversation is part of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Legacy Collection, a series of long-form career retrospectives, recorded between 1979 and 2012, with legendary performing artists and industry luminaries. These interviews were captured on a variety of physical media formats and recently digitized in order to share with actors, filmmakers and entertainment enthusiasts. It contains unique conversations with influential actors and pioneering performers who explore the process and profession of acting.
The first season of the Legacy Collection is entitled ‘Emmy Winners’ and features Robert Duvall, Viola Davis, Henry Winkler, Jessica Walter, Peter Dinklage, Doris Roberts, S. Epatha Merkerson, William Shatner, Edie Falco, Edward James Olmos, Jean Smart, and Alfre Woodard. Episodes will be published on the Foundation’s YouTube channel and added to a Legacy Collection playlist every Monday and Thursday from July 15 – August 22, 2024.
The Legacy Collection, Season 2: Icons, will premiere on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10am PT.
