The Foundation’s Emergency Assistance Program & the Critical Role It Played During the 2023 Strikes
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation played a critical role during the dual industry strikes of 2023. Thanks to the many generous donors and supporters who asked, “How can I help?”, the Foundation was able to give more than $14 million in Emergency Financial Assistance to thousands of SAG-AFTRA artists and families in dire need since May 2023. The need continues today, and the Foundation is here to support performers in urgent need.
We thank all of our extraordinary donors, from movie stars to background actors, for stepping up and giving back to support their own community, as well as all of the industry and public supporters who had the backs of performers and their families during a difficult time.
Our gratitude to SAG-AFTRA actors, Kristen Lapari, Alejandro Matias and Brooklyn McLinn, and their families, for sharing their stories and experiences with the Emergency Financial Assistance Program. And an additional shout out to all of the SAG-AFTRA members who participated in the Foundation’s programs and were featured in this promo including Jaclyn Rose Bernstein, Diane Kelber, Lauren Stewart, Pilar Uribe, Orson Van Gay II and Vince Yap.
As the Foundation looks towards its 40 year milestone of providing Emergency Financial Assistance to the members of SAG-AFTRA, remember…. If you need help, ask. And if you can help, please give: https://www.sagaftra.foundation/donate.
