Berlinale Talents – Dream On: Golden Bear Jury
This roundtable takes on a historic golden hue: all former Golden-Bear winners, the International Jury of this 71st edition of the Berlinale joins the festival’s Artistic Director Carlo Chatrian in conversation. Rather than focus on their duties as jurors however, this is an invitation to these celebrated filmmakers to address the dreamlike dimensions of their work, whether poetic or political. These masterful daydreamers include the directors of award-winning movies in which a couple first meets in dreams as deer, in which we follow the allegorical encounters of a young Israeli in the Parisian night, or in which a mother and daughter cope with the fallout of the Bosnian War. Dreams can have their dark moments, but the conversation these directors will engage in will certainly set a new gold-standard of creativity and generosity.
