A Rare Look at John F. Kennedy
This rarely-seen silent home movie features then-Senator John F. Kennedy arriving at The Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, circa 1960. The Academy Film Archive (http://www.oscars.org/filmarchive/index.html) is home to over 165,000 moving image items, including the collection of James D. Telfer, a cameraman for Warner Bros. whose career spanned more than 40 years. The Margaret Herrick Library (http://www.oscars.org/library/index.html) is home to the James D. Telfer papers. On November 22, the Academy will screen “John F. Kennedy, Years of Lightning, Day of Drums” (1964), written, directed and scored by Bruce Herschensohn, produced by George Stevens Jr., and narrated by Gregory Peck.
